Young Brighton striker Evan Ferguson bagged a brace as the Seagulls beat Southampton in the Premier League to qualify for European football for the first time in their history.
The 18-year-old Irishman converted a low drive before doubling Brighton's advantage with a first time effort from inside the penalty box.
The Saints made a game of it and Mohamed Elyounoussi's header cut the deficit, but Pascal Gross hit Brighton's third to seal the points.
Roberto de Zebra's men tightened their grip on sixth spot in the Premier League and they are all but assured of a Europa League spot given their superior goal difference to Aston Villa in seventh. Brighton strengthened their grip on sixth place in the table and have all-but qualified for next season's Europa League because of their superior goal difference over seventh-placed Aston Villa.
Assured of a Europa Conference League spot at the very least, the Seagulls require a single point to confirm qualification for the Europa League.
Southampton, meanwhile, entered the contest having already had their relegation confirmed by defeat to Fulham in their last outing. They will face Liverpool at home in their final game of the season next Sunday.
