According to self-proclaimed football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Aymeric Laporte is set to sign for Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr from 2022/23 treble winners Manchester City.
It has been reported that the Spanish international defender will move to Saudi Arabia for a fee of around 20 million euros and he is expected to earn between £15 million and £19 million per season.
The 29 year-old France-born defender began his professional career with Athletic Club before joining Manchester City in the January transfer window of 2018.
He has 22 national team caps for Spain, despite playing his youth football with France and having been a part of a France squad in the past, and has won one Supercopa de Espana, five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, three EFL Cups, a Community Shield, the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Nations League.
He joins an Al Nassr side that finished second in the Saudi Pro League table. They have appointed Luis Castro over the summer and have made some interesting additions this summer and are one of the ‘big four’ to have PIF funding.
Their overseas players include captain Cristiano Ronaldo, Seko Fofana who has joined from Lens, Sadio Mane, Ghislain Konan, Alex Telles, Marcelo Brozovic, Talisca and they are also set to complete the arrival of Otavio from Porto. They also have David Ospina and Pity Martinez but those two have been unregistered from the squad.
