Benfica left-back Alex Grimaldo is being tailed by a host of clubs from around Europe.
The 27-year-old Spaniard's contract with Benfica expires at the end of this season and he is therefore free to negotiate with clubs outside of Portugal this month.
Serie A pair Juventus and AC Milan are in the hunt for Grimaldo's signature, while Villarreal and Valencia are both keen for the player to sign a pre-contract agreement for the summer or even finalise a move to La Liga this month.
Premier League Newcastle are believed to have run the rule over the defender, who has made 277 appearances for Benfica across all competitions and scored 22 goals.
