Diogo Jota scored a late winner to edge Liverpool to a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday and set up a semifinal clash against Manchester City.
After knocking out Premier League sides Arsenal and Leicester to reach Sunday's quarterfinal clash with Liverpool, and it looked as though another cup shock could have been on the cards at the City Ground.
The visitors dominated the first-half, but didn't create many chances and Roberto Firmino blew their one gilt-edged chance when he failed to beat Ethan Horvath when sent clear on 27 minutes.
Forest were resilient throughout and almost snatched a shock lead on 76 minutes but Philip Zinckernagel failed to find the back of the net from the penalty spot as he watched his low strike fly past the far post.
Just moments later, Diogo Jota netted the winner in 78th minute with a diving volley to poke a crossed ball past opposing goalkeeper Ethan Horvath.
The result means Jurgen Klopp's side remain in the hunt for a quadruple after they lifted the Carabao Cup trophy last month.
The Reds will now make another trip to Wembley for the semi-finals next month where they will face Man City, who ran out 4-1 winners at Southampton in the competition earlier on Sunday.
Liverpool will now switch their focus back to the Premier League title race when they entertain struggling Watford after the international break.
