Japan overcame Spain, 2x1, on Thursday, in a match relating to the Grp.E of the World Cup.
The first goal was scored by Álvaro Morata in the 11th minute, through a header. With his 10th goal of the season.
After the break, Ritsu Doan struck for Japan, with a left-foot shot from outside the penalty box. Ao Tanaka netted the last goal with 51 minutes on the clock with a right-foot strike inside the penalty area.
In the next fixture, Japan will host Croatia, whilst Spain will play away against Morocco.
