Liverpool are on the verge of ending their 30-year league title wait after cruising to an impressively dominant 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Anfield.
After a drab goalless Merseyside derby at Everton on Sunday, Liverpool sparked into life on their Anfeild return, peppering Palace's goal early on as a returning Mohamed Salah continually drove his side into the opposition box.
It was left to Trent Alexander-Arnold to open the scoring though, with the young full back curling home a beautifully hit free kick just after the 20th minute to start the rout against Palace and before half-time Mohamed Salah swept in the second after Fabinho's brilliant pass to put the game almost to bed.
10 minutes into the second-half, Fabinho crashed home a stunning 30-yard strike, giving no chance to Wayne Hennessey in the Palace net, and then Sadio Mane completed a superb counter attack after a sumptuous pass from Salah in the 69th minute to make it 16 wins in 16 home games in the league this season.
Liverpool can be crowned Premier League champions tomorrow if Manchester City fail to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and if City win, Liverpool will have the chance to clinch the title against the defending champions next Thursday, July 2.
