Former West Ham striker Sébastien Haller had a night to remember on Wednesday when he scored a 'poker' in Ajax's 5-1 win over Sporting in Lisbon - and his exploits inspired this week's Playmaker Quiz.
On his Champions League debut, the 27-year-old Haller netted doubles either side of half-time to tame the Portuguese champions and help Ajax rack up an impressive 18 goals in their last five matches.
Since the Champions League's inception in 1992 debut, Haller is only the second player to score four goals on his debut in the competition since AC Milan's Marco van Basten in November 1992 (clue!). Technically, that wasn't Van Basten's debut either given that he'd already played in the European Cup.
Anyway, in search of monumental trivia we trawled through the archives to find EVERY player to net four goals in a single Champions League game. 18 answers, 16 players (two players did it twice!)...godspeed!
