Despite some games being postponed due to international call-ups, it was a busy weekend in League One and League Two.

Wigan Athletic's match was one of those postponed fixtures, which means Plymouth have gone top of League One after winning away to Accrington Stanley. An own goal from Ethan Hamilton opened the scoring for the Argyle with goals also coming from Jordan Houghton, Ryan Broom, and Ryan Hardie. Accrington's Tommy Leigh grabbing the home side's only goal of the game in a 4-1 defeat to the new league leaders.

Wycombe Wanderers also had the opportunity to go level on points with Wigan, but the Chairboys lost at home to Portsmouth. Joe Jacobson had the chance to give Wycombe the lead from the penalty spot but his effort was saved by Alex Bass. The visitors then went on to win it through Marcus Harness's 73rd-minute goal that moves Pompey up to 10th in the table.

Ipswich Town and Oxford United drew 0-0 at Portman Road allowing MK Dons to move up to fifth after they won comfortably 4-1 at home to Cambridge United.

Elsewhere, Ben Purrington goal was enough for Charlton Athletic to beat teen-man Burton Albion and in Friday's game, Bolton Wanderers returned to winning ways to against bottom of the league Crewe Alexander.

League Two

It was a good weekend for Forest Green Rovers, who despite not playing have the option to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Port Vale could have gone ahead of Forest Green Rovers, but could only draw at home to Bradford City James Wilson put the Valiants ahead with his seventh goal of the season, but Bradford were able to take a point back home thanks to Lee Angol's 74th-minute header.

Had Northampton Town not thrown away a lead at Bristol Rovers they could have gone within a point of Forest Green. Northampton opened the scoring through a Sam Hoskins penalty but two goals in five minutes for Bristol was enough for the points despite getting a man sent off. Josh Grant equalised and Antony Evans grabbed the winner before Glenn Whelan was dismissed for his second yellow card but the Cobblers couldn't make their numerical superiority count.

That result allowed Exeter City to move up to third ahead of Northampton after they beat Oldham Athletic 2-1 with Matt Jay scoring his 10th league goal of the season. Meanwhile, a win on Friday for Newport Town against Hartlepool and a return to form for Harrogate Town against Walsall means that both of those sides move up to the top six.

At the bottom of the table, Mansfield Town managed an important win away to Stevenage to move from 23rd up to 18th, while Carlisle United managed a point at home to Barrow and Scunthorpe Town drew at home to Salford City.
