We are now nearly a month into the New Year and, although there have been plenty of postponements across the country due to the Covid pandemic, now is a good time to look at which clubs across 'The 92' have started 2022 with a bang.
To increase the sample size, Playmaker trawled across every game played in domestic competition from the turn of the year...and there are still half a dozen clubs who boast 100% records with February on the horizon.
Perhaps surprisingly, the sole Premier League club to win all of their games this year is Wolves - Bruno Lage's impressive start to life at Molineux underscored by the Midlanders' fine 2-1 win at Brentford last weekend: their third in the top flight in 2022 and fourth in total when cup victory over Sheffield United is thrown into the mix.
In terms of Championship sides, in-form Fulham started this year in relatively modest fashion with a 1-0 FA Cup win over Bristol City. Since then, however, Marco Silva's men have been in ridiculous fettle - winning four straight in the second tier, scoring a further 21 goals!
Nottingham Forest, QPR and Middlesbrough complete a quartet of Championship clubs with 100% records thus far in 2022 - although the latter travel to high-flying Blackburn tonight for a tricky fixture that will be only their third outing this year.
The only other top four tier team protecting a perfect start is League One outfit Wigan - who beat Gillingham 3-2 last weekend thanks to a late strike from Will Keane. The Latics currently top League One on goal difference from Sunderland in what looks set to be a pulsating promotion run-in.
