Crewe Alexandra’s relegation from League One has been confirmed after losing 2-0 away to Doncaster Rovers.
The Railwaymen find themselves 13 points away from safety with just four games left to play following their loss at the Keepmoat Stadium. Goals from Tommy Rowe and Josh Martin game the home team the victory, although Gary McSheffrey’s side are still hoping to escape the drop themselves.
Relegation has been a long time coming for Crewe, who have lost 15 of their last 16 games – including eight defeats in a row.
Pressure will now be on manager David Artell with fans unhappy with their team’s performances, although it seems the manager is likely to stay at the club and help Crewe rebuild and prepare for League Two next season.
