Portuguese club Benfica have officially confirmed the sale of Darwin Núñez to Liverpool with an initial fee of €75million (£64m).
On top of the initial fee, as Águias also stated that the fee could be worth up to the widely-reported €100m fee depending on performance-related variables.
Núñez is expected to sign a six-year contract with Jürgen Klopp’s team after undergoing a medical today.
The arrival of the Uruguayan striker will be Liverpool’s second signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrival of Portuguese midfielder Fábio Carvalho from Fulham.
