Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi for a fee of around £17.7 million from Bundesliga club Taiwo Awoniyi - and the transfer got us thinking about club record deals.
Steve Cooper’s club are unlikely to be the last club to break their transfer record this summer but the fact that £17.7 million is due to be a ground-breaking sum for the two-time European champions is an example of how much the finances have skewed English clubs.
