Sébastien Haller scored his first Borussia Dortmund goal as the striker continues a remarkable return to football.
The former West Ham and Ajax man has undergone surgeries and chemotherapy for a malignant tumour found soon after joining the German club last summer.
Haller made his first appearance for his new club at the end of January when he came off the bench 62 minutes into Dortmund’s 4-3 win over Augsburg.
In Haller’s second start for the club, he got himself on the scoresheet with 51 minutes gone against Freiburg. The score was 2-1 when Raphaël Guerreiro’s cross found its way to the 28-year-old to head into the net for Dortmund’s third.
The game went on to finish 5-1 to the home side with Dortmund recording their fourth successive win – Haller played in all of them.
