Sean Dyche returned to Turf Moor as Everton extended their excellent form with a convincing 2-0 victory against Burnley.
The Toffees started strongly at Turf Moor and came close to scoring through Dominic Calvert-Lewin's header, only to be denied by a stunning save from James Trafford.
However, in the ensuing corner, Amadou Onana leapt highest to head in the opening goal from Dwight McNeil's corner with 18 minutes on the clock.
The visitors doubled their lead after 25 minutes when Michael Keane calmly slotted home on the second attempt, following Trafford's save from his initial shot and Dara O'Shea's inability to clear the rebound.
During the second half, the hosts displayed a different approach and came close to narrowing the deficit. Zeki Amdouni forced Jordan Pickford into a remarkable full-stretch save, and Sander Berge struck the crossbar.
Towards the end of the match, Beto came close to adding a third for the visitors, but Trafford thwarted the attempt.
With this result, Everton climbs to 16th in the Premier League, establishing a seven-point cushion above the relegation zone after Luton's game against Bournemouth was abandoned earlier on Saturday. Meanwhile, Burnley remains in 19th place, trailing safety by six points.
