The Lionesses warm-weather training camp in Spain ended with a comfortable victory over Italy.
England made the best possible start going ahead with barely over a minute played in the game when Alex Greenwood's corner from the right was met at the near post by Lotte Wubben-Moy and into the corner past the reach of Laura Giuliani.
It was another corner from the right that led to England's second. This time Giuliani managed to get a fist to the ball but that touch only took it far as Lauren Hemp whose effort eventually found its way into the net.
The Italians couldn't handle England's set-pieces and a corner from the left caused panic in defence. The first ball was initially cleared but Georgia Stanway got the ball back into the box for Lauren Hemp to get her side's third.
Italy pulled one back just before half-time. Sarina Wiegman won't be happy with how her side gave away the ball in their own half and they were quickly punished. Michela Catena's low ball from the left was diverted into the net by the outside of Michela Cambiaghi's right boot.
England regained their three-goal advantage in the 69th minute. Greenwood's ball over the top found Lauren James who easily got to the byline and put in a ball that Ella Toone did well to divert into the top corner.
A wayward back-pass set up England's fifth goal of the game which freed Rachel Daly. The Aston Villa player took the ball around the onrushing Giuliani, kept her cool to go around a back-tracking defender before putting the ball into an empty net.
This impressive 5-1 friendly victory was a positive game for England to go into April's international break when the Euro 2025 qualification campaign will begin.
