DC United have completing the signing of Mateusz Klich from Leeds on a contract that runs until the end of 2024, with an option to extend for a further 12 months.
Former Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney, now the head coach of the MLS side, told the club website: "Mateusz is a first-rate midfielder who will add top-level experience to our roster.
"I’ve been watching him since he helped lead Leeds to promotion to the Premier League and his vision, range of passing and scoring ability will be a huge asset for us this season.”
Klich paid a tearful goodbye to Leeds fans at the end of the Whites' 2-2 draw with West Ham earlier this month, his farewell appearance, during which his team-mates wore shirts bearing his name.
