Jadon Sancho scored his first goal for Borussia Dortmund since his return in their 2-1 triumph over Werder Bremen on Saturday.
Dortmund took the lead with Donyell Malen's remarkable overhead kick just after the hour mark.
Sancho doubled their lead seven minutes later with an impressive individual effort, after he skillfully got past a Werder Bremen defender twice before calmly slotting the ball into the net from an angle.
Despite holding a comfortable two-goal lead, Borussia Dortmund faced a sudden twist just before half-time when Marcel Sabitzer received a straight red card for a reckless challenge.
Werder Bremen managed to reduce the deficit in the 70th minute, with Justin Njinmah scoring and setting the stage for a tense finish.
Although Werder Bremen dominated the final minutes, they couldn't find a late equaliser, and Borussia Dortmund held on for the victory.
