Empoli beat Milan in a close win on Sunday, 1x2, on matchweek 33. Before this matchday, Vincenzo Montella's team came from a draw, and Giovanni Martusciello's team came from a win.
The opening goal was scored by Levan Mchedlidze in the 40th minute, from a corner.
After 59 minutes, Suso advanced to the penalty, but Lukasz Skorupski defended. Empoli scored their second goal of the game through Mame Thiam, with 67 minutes on the clock, with a left-foot shot, after an assist provided by Massimo Maccarone. Gianluca Lapadula netted the last goal in the 72nd minute with a left-foot shot inside the penalty area.
After the result Milan are 6th in the table, with 58 points, while Empoli sit 17th place, with 29 points. With regard to the next fixture, Giovanni Martusciello's team will play at home against Sassuolo, whilst Vincenzo Montella's team will play away against Crotone.
