Macedonia beat Malta in a close win on Thursday, 2x1, in a match relating to the Grp.C of the Euro Qualifying. Both Blagoja Milevski's team and Malta's national team played their first game in the competition.
The first-half ended without any goals.
Elif Elmas opened the score after 66 minutes, with a right-foot shot inside the penalty area. With 72 minutes on the clock, Macedonia extended their lead with a goal from Darko Churlinov with a left-foot strike. Yannick Yankam netted the last goal in the 85th minute with a right-foot strike inside the box. With his 5th goal of the season.
In the next fixture, Macedonia will host Ukraine, while Malta will play at home against Italy.
