Sheffield United move on to the next round of FA Cup

Sheffield United edged out Blackburn Rovers, 3x2, on Sunday, in a match relating to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The opening goal was scored by Ben Brereton in the 21st minute, from the penalty spot. Ben Brereton now on a scoring streak of 3 consecutive games. In a very unlucky moment, Sam Gallagher scored an own-goal after 28 minutes, from a corner.

With 60 minutes on the clock, Sammie Szmodics fired home Blackburn Rovers second goal, with a right-foot strike inside the penalty area. Sheffield United scored their second goal of the game through Oliver McBurnie, after 81 minutes, with a left-foot shot inside the penalty area. Deep into added time, Tommy Doyle wrapped things up, with a right-foot shot from outside the box.

With this result, Sheffield United are through to the next round of the competition. With regard to the next fixture, Paul Heckingbottom's team will play against Manchester City.
