According to self-proclaimed football transfer expert, AFC Bournemouth are closing in on the signing of Matias Vina on loan from Roma until the end of the season.
The Uruguayan is expected to join The Cherries this week with Roma reportedly receiving a one million euro fee for the six-month loan deal.
Vina would become Bournemouth’s third signing of the January transfer window. They completed the signing of Dango Ouattara from Lorient last week and are set to announce the capture of Nicolas Jackson for around £22.5 million from Villarreal.
Bournemouth were taken over by an American consortium, led by Bill Foley and including actor Michael B. Jordan, earlier this month, and they have been insistent on their ambition in the transfer market.
Vina, who turned 25 in November, was a part of Uruguay’s 2022 FIFA World Cup squad in Qatar last month. He has made just three appearances for Roma in Serie A so far this season, though.
Bournemouth have collected just one point since their return from the FIFA World Cup break, with that draw coming at home to Nottingham Forest at the weekend. Under the management of Gary O’Neil, they have won just two of their last 14 matches in all competitions and both of those victories came in a three-day period and both against fellow strugglers Everton.
