Cristiano Ronaldo scored two more goals for Portugal in their 6-0 thrashing of Luxembourg during Sunday's Euro 2024 qualifier, extending his record-breaking run.
It only took 18 minutes for Portugal's star trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, João Félix, and Bernardo Silva to make their mark on the scoresheet.
Ronaldo led the charge with a stunning free-kick that blasted into the top corner just nine minutes into the game.
Shortly after, Félix soared above the defenders to head in Portugal's second goal, and Silva followed suit with a powerful strike from his left foot to make it 3-0.
Bruno Fernandes set up Ronaldo for the fourth, just past the half hour mark, securing his team's fourth goal of the match.
In the second half, substitute Otavio wasted no time in making an impact, scoring his first goal with his very first touch to bring the tally to five.
Ruben Neves, who has yet to score for his country, came agonizingly close in the 83rd minute when his free-kick hit the crossbar. However, their luck changed when Luxembourg captain Laurent Jans fouled Rafael Leão in the box, resulting in a penalty being awarded.
Leão saw his effort superbly saved, but with just two minutes remaining, he found the back of the net after sprinting onto a long pass from Neves to score Portugal's sixth.
Portugal's win means that they now boast the best record of any team in European Championship qualifying so far, having secured two wins and scored an impressive 10 goals without conceding a single one.
