Romelu Lukaku scored on his return to Chelsea as they eased past Arsenal with a 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.
The Action: The Blues started the game in a high tempo and were causing all sorts of problems to Arsenal and it took only 15 minutes for them to score.
On Romelu Lukaku's first game back at Chelsea, the Belgian striker scored his first goal for the club after a tapping in a Reece James' cross.
Just 20 minutes later, the English full-back score the second for Thomas Tuchel's men, after a superb team work with James finishing in great style with a shot into the top corner.
In the second-half, both sides created chances to score, with Rob Holding putting a header wide from six yards for Arsenal, and Lukaku was denied a second by Bernd Leno's brilliant reflex save onto the crossbar from a header.
Arsenal couldn't turn things around against a powerful Chelsea and lost their opening two Premier League games without a goal scored.
Big Picture: It looks like the European champions didn't have any holidays. Thomas Tuchel's men look as sharp and fit as ever and today sent a message to all the teams challenging for the Premier League, that they'll be a major title contender.
On Saturday, Chelsea will have their biggest test of the season yet, away to Liverpool.
Mikel Arteta's side will try to turn things around, when they play West Brom in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, and their next league game is at champions Manchester City next Sunday.
Man of the Match: Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian international fits in this team like a glove. Lukaku bullied Pablo Marí all afternoon, in every aspect. All of his movements, hold-up play, involvement in his team's attacks and adding the goals, Romelu Lukaku turned himself into one of the most dangerous strikers in Europe.
xG: Arsenal (0.54) 0-2 (3.04) Chelsea
Stat of the Day: In Arsenal's 118th campaign in England's top four tiers, the Gunners have opened a league season with two defeats and no goals after two matches for the first time in their history.
