Darnell Furlong's header cancelled out Fábio Carvalho's super strike as the points were shared between Hull City and West Bromwich Albion.
The Tigers came into this in excellent form having won five of their previous six games.
Any confidence from that run was certainly on display when Fábio Carvalho opened the scoring in the 35th minute. The on-loan Liverpool man let out a fierce shot from the edge of the area that Alex Palmer couldn't keep out.
That lead didn't last long though as the Baggies equalised just before half-time. A corner from the right taken by Ryan Giles was met by the head of Darnell Furlong whose header bounced its way into the far corner.
A draw was a fitting result in the end but both sides had chances to win the game late on. Jaden Philogene was denied by the post with his effort after a neat one-two with Ryan Giles.
The visitors did the same when Adam Reach's effort bounced off the woodwork with John Swift unable to finish off.
Substitute Andreas Weimann had another great chance just before the end when he was played through behind the Hull defence. The Austrian elected to go for a chip but couldn't get it right allowing Ryan Allsop to make the all-important save.
With that result, both sides will remain in the play-off places this weekend no matter what happens elsewhere in the Championship.
