Manchester City won a seven-goal thriller at Newcastle United last night to add further gloss to their Premier League title success - Spanish youngster Ferrán Torres joining a select list of players to score a hat-trick for City under Pep Guardiola.
Emil Krafth's 25th minute opener for the Magpies was overturned by goals from City full-back João Cancelo and Torres, but Joelinton's penalty in added time at the end of the first-half saw the sides enter the break on level terms.
Newcastle regained the lead when Joe Willock made it 3-2 on 62 minutes, but Torres wasn't finished and a quickfire double from the Spain international secured him the match-ball and ensured victory for this season's Premier League champions.
In the process, Torres became the SIXTH player to score a hat-trick for Manchester City since Guardiola took the reins back in 2016/17. Across all competitions during this period, Sergio Aguero has unsurprisingly hit the most trebles - eight in total (one of them part of a four-goal haul) - with Raheem Sterling (4) and Gabriel Jesus (3) also weighing in with multiple hat-tricks.
Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez and now Torres complete the line-up with one treble apiece for the Citizens.
