Swansea City edged past Hull City

Swansea City triumphed over Hull City in a close win on Saturday, 2x1, in the 1st round. Both Steve Cooper's team and Grant McCann's team held their first game in the competition.

The opening goal was scored by Kamil Grosicki after 3 minutes, with a right-foot strike inside the penalty area.

After 48 minutes, Borja Bastón struck for Swansea City, through a header inside the penalty area, assisted by Jay Fulton.  Mike van der Hoorn netted the last goal with 49 minutes on the clock from a corner.

After the result Swansea City is 4th in the table, 3 points, while Hull City occupy 17th place, 0 points. With regard to the next fixture, Swansea's team visit Derby County. Meanwhile, Kingston Upon Hull's team will play at home against Reading.
