England cruised into the quarter-finals of the World Cup after an emphatic 3-0 win over Senegal at the Al Bayt Stadium.
Action: Both nations seemed to be sitting back and not forcing any action in the early minutes of the game.
The first big chance of the game came actually from Senegal, who nearly went in front if it wasn't a great save from Jordan Pickford denying Boulaye Dia's close range attempt.
And out of nowhere, the Three Lions went ahead in 38th minute. Jude Bellingham broke into the Senegal box before squaring to Jordan Henderson, who coolly slotted the ball past Edouard Mendy and into the net.
Seconds before the end of the first half, England doubled their lead. Bellingham recovered the ball, burst through Senegal's midfield before feeding Phil Foden who then provided the assist for Harry Kane to smash it past an helpless Mendy.
As the Lions of Teranga tried to get back into the game in the second half, they conceded a third goal. Great work from Foden on the left, he then played a the perfect low ball for Bukayo Saka, who chipped a lovely finish over Mendy.
Gareth Southgate's men controlled the rest of the minutes as Aliou Cissé's side completely gave up.
A very mature performance from England sets up a clash in the quarter-finals of the World Cup with France, who beat Poland 3-1 earlier in the day. The game is set to be played next Saturday, December 10.
Man of the match: Jude Bellingham. The dynamo of this team. Another tremendous performance by the teenager, helping the team defensively and in the attack. Playing like that, he is a real contender to take part in the Best XI of the World Cup.
Moment of the match: Henderson's goal. Without deserving, England went ahead and that goal gave the security that the Three Lions needed to not panic and control the game.
Reaction: Phil Foden on Jude Bellingham: "I don't want to big him up too much because he is still young but he's one of the most gifted players I have ever seen. He has no weakness in his game. I think he will be the best midfielder in the world."
